Mission

Bright Side Early Care and Learning Center is dedicated to partnering with families to provide high-quality personal care and early education, fostering children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. The center aims to build a strong foundation for formal education and supports school-age children with enrichment activities, safe before-and-after-school care, school holiday programs, and summer camps.

We opened our first center in July 2016. To fulfill the needs of our community, we opened our second center in March 2018. We are subsidy vendors through Virginia Department of Social Services, members of the Orange Chamber of Commerce, and part of Virginia’s Department of Education’s Linkb5 program.

Weekly Bible Stories &
Character Education

We share weekly Bible stories with the children. In addition to the story, we will have extension activities to support the value and moral of each story. We introduce the children to good character traits through stories, activities, and games, helping them apply these lessons in their daily lives. These teachings nurture both their hearts and minds.

Inter-generational Program

We are unique to be located on the campus of Dogwood Village of Orange County. Our children participate in weekly activities to include, but not limited to story time, exercise time, cooking and art projects, fun games, annual Easter egg hunt, and a festive holiday show. The children and residents of Dogwood Village build loving relationships and look forward to our visits together.

Social-Emotional Learning

Through engaging activities and structured lessons, children learn key SEL competencies such as self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. These skills not only help children navigate their emotions in a positive way but also empower them to communicate effectively, show empathy, and resolve conflicts peacefully.
